The control model

Review is part of the workflow, not a cleanup step.

Repdate makes reporting responsibilities and state transitions explicit so the evidence, change and person behind a decision remain visible.

01UnresolvedNeeds preparation or a decision
02PreparedReady for independent checking
03CheckedCleared by an eligible Checker
04ApprovedComplete report signed by Reviewer

Built into the state

The system holds the line.

Process notes can be skipped. Repdate models the rights, evidence and invalidation rules in the reporting cycle itself.

01

Nobody clears their own work

The last person to change an entry cannot be the person who independently clears it.

02

Configuration is controlled change

Changing a mapping can affect every future cycle, so new or changed mappings require separate verification.

03

Roles are not cumulative

Preparer, Checker, Reviewer and Administrator receive different rights, rather than progressively broader access.

04

Evidence is append-only

The reporting record preserves actions and decisions. No reporting or administrative role can amend or delete audit events.

05

Changes reopen affected work

Overrides and content edits invalidate relevant approvals and return downstream work to review.

06

Release is a gate

Open material items, failed reconciliations, unsigned content and unresolved commentary remain visible as blockers.

Reporting roles

Four roles, with administration outside the chain.

These boundaries protect independent review. Exact role assignments and observer access can be agreed for the operating model.

PreparerInputs, mappings, report content and preparationClear their own work or approve the report
CheckerIndependent verification and checked stateClear an item they changed
